Testing vanilla Minecraft on M1 Mac:
Following my last video testing vanilla Minecraft on my M1 Mac, I performed the same tests using Optifine. I tested the 3 core resolutions of 1080, 1440 (2k), and 3840 (4k).
For this test used my Lets Play World where I have a lot going on. This allowed me to show a good range where there is nothing on screen, to show a heavily populated area and the effect of that range on performance.
In summary – we see about a 25% boost in the high end of the FPS range when using Optifine when compared to Vanilla. However, the low-end FPS values were in fact the same.
